Texas GOP Rep. Brandon Gill urged the Trump administration to deport Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) to Somalia.
“America would be better if @IlhanMN were deported,” Gill posted on X, sharing a video of Omar appearing to advise Somalis in the U.S. on resisting immigration authorities. The clip, posted by conservative influencer Greg Price, claimed Omar was helping illegal immigrants avoid deportation.

Several X users supported Gill’s stance.
“100%! She’s anti-American and a fraud,” one wrote. Another asked, “Isn’t this against the law? Expel her!” A third claimed, “She’s committing federal crimes by helping illegal immigrants evade ICE. She should be investigated.”
Gill later posted, “We should have never let Ilhan Omar into our country.”
His spokesperson told The Hill that Omar’s actions raise concerns about her loyalty, accusing her of aiding an “invasion” of illegal immigrants.
In the video, Omar advised undocumented Somalis on handling ICE encounters, urging them not to disclose information.
Her remarks come as Trump’s administration pushes mass deportations, prioritizing criminal migrants but warning that all illegal immigrants are at risk. Border czar Tom Homan emphasized that ICE will pursue undocumented individuals nationwide, including in sanctuary cities.
In a heated CNN interview, Homan defended ICE’s actions, stating, “If someone is a public safety threat, they should be afraid, because we’re looking for them.”
