Senate Votes To Confirm Pam Bondi As Attorney General

The Republican-controlled Senate confirmed Pam Bondi as U.S. Attorney General in a 54-46 vote after Senate Democrats delayed the process by a week.

During her confirmation hearing, Bondi faced tough questioning from Sen. Adam Schiff, particularly over potential pardons for January 6 defendants. Schiff pushed her to commit against blanket pardons, but Bondi insisted she would review cases individually. The exchange turned tense when Schiff questioned her workload capacity, leading Bondi to fire back by reminding him of his congressional censure for making “reckless” statements.

Schiff also raised concerns about an investigation into former Rep. Liz Cheney over alleged secret communications with a January 6 witness. Bondi dismissed it as a hypothetical, shifting the discussion to California’s rising crime rates, arguing that real justice reform should focus on issues impacting everyday Americans.

If her previous remarks are any indication, Bondi might be the driving force behind the long-awaited public release of Jeffrey Epstein’s client list. In a recent interview with Fox News, she shared her opinions about the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein client list, suggesting it should be made public.

Also, in September, Trump said that he would have “no problem” releasing more official files related to Epstein, including the late sex offender’s “client list.”

Epstein had clients in such high positions that their names could potentially topple the political hierarchy overnight. In 2019, while awaiting prosecution for sex trafficking, Epstein died under controversial circumstances in his prison cell.
