‘The Five’ Explodes As Pirro, Tarlov Joust Over New Orleans Attack

Fox News’ Jessica Tarlov sparred with fellow The Five co-host Jeanine Pirro on Thursday after Pirro claimed no one had suggested the New Orleans terrorist was an undocumented immigrant.

Discussing President Joe Biden’s response to the New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans, which left 15 dead and over 30 injured, Tarlov defended Biden’s call for patience, saying, “I’m not embarrassed seeing someone say, ‘Let’s wait for the facts,’ unlike Donald Trump, who…”

Pirro interjected, “No, he assured Americans all was well.”

Tarlov countered, “The facts show the suspect was an American, not an illegal immigrant.”

Pirro argued, “No one’s saying he wasn’t.” Tarlov shot back, “Republicans are blaming this on open borders.”

Pirro then declared, “Seventy-five percent of arrests in NYC are illegals! Let’s stop playing games!” Tarlov retorted, “Move the goalposts all you want. Sugar Bowl-wide!”

President-elect Donald Trump and some Republicans linked Biden’s border policies to the New Orleans attack.

“Our hearts are with the victims,” Trump said, adding that his warnings about dangerous criminals entering through open borders had been proven right. House Speaker Mike Johnson and Trump’s border nominee Tom Homan also criticized the administration’s lax security.

Intelligence experts, including Sara Adams, have warned that foreign-trained fighters, including al Qaeda operatives, entered the U.S. due to Biden’s border policies and DHS leadership under Alejandro Mayorkas.

Fox News initially reported the truck used in the New Orleans attack entered the U.S. in November, driven by someone else. The FBI identified the attacker as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. Army veteran from Texas, who carried an ISIS flag during the New Year’s Eve rampage.

Fox News ended 2024 with its highest audience share in nearly a decade, maintaining its nine-year streak as the top cable news network. The Five set records as the most-watched cable news program, averaging over four million viewers in Q4.
