MSNBC’s Joy Reid Leaves X After Trump’s Blowout Win

Far-left MSNBC host Joy Reid deleted her X account after President-elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, though she denied the move was related to his win. Reid, who had 1.9 million followers, attributed her decision to dissatisfaction with the platform’s owner, Elon Musk.

“I haven’t been posting for a long time and didn’t want to contribute content under its current ownership,” Reid explained in a video. She cited the platform’s negativity and abuse as additional reasons. Reid, a vocal Harris supporter, blamed her loss on “patriarchy” and white women voters.

Her departure follows former CNN anchor Don Lemon’s exit from X, which came after Musk canceled Lemon’s broadcast deal. Lemon criticized the platform’s new legal terms, saying they shield X from accountability and punish critics.

Meanwhile, Trump announced Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The initiative aims to reduce federal bureaucracy, slash wasteful spending, and reform agencies. Trump praised the effort as a transformative step akin to the Manhattan Project.
